~ 2005 CASA Classic U12 Girls~

The Mighty Bluebirds won their 23rd consecutive tournament by outscoring their opponents 32-2 throughout play. The Bluebirds beat LRFC 3-1 in overtime after out-shooting them by at least a 7-1 margin during regulation play. The ball just wouldn't go in, and LRFC scored a corner kick to tie the game on the last play of the game. The Bluebirds showed their metal, however, in overtime with Haley Hatcher scoring two goals to help the Bluebirds cruise to victory.

Haley Filat turned in her best game of the season defensively and Megan Batek played another outstanding game at sweeper to make it almost impossible to score on the Bluebirds. Leah Riner was tough at the top of the diamond playing great defense and distributing the ball, while Kelsey Smith used her speed on the outside to shut down the other team's speedy threats. Larkin Hatcher continued to provide more beautiful passes to Haley to help her score while contributing some nice scores of her own. Annie Stafford and Hannah Qualls did a great job of manning the right forward position for the Bluebirds and used their skill to score some goals and did a great job distributing the ball. Samantha Mack and Breanna Gordon were solid for the Bluebirds on defense and Lauren Ashburn provided a needed boost coming off the bench for the Bluebirds at forward. All in all, it was a team effort once again that kept the Bluebirds on top. They finish the season ranked #4 in the nation and #1 in the region.
