~ 2004 Huntsville Summer Classic U15 Girls~

The Mighty Bluebird White team gave up an unlikely goal in the first game to lose 1-0 even against the Lady Kicks '90 even though they out shot the team throughout the game. The goal was shot from a long ways out and when it wasn't expected and it just squeaked through the inside corner. The Bluebirds started out their second game against Angels '90 White and gave up a goal to go behind at 1-0 at the half. It was the only shot on goal this team had even though the Bluebirds had been knocking on the door the entire first half. In the second half the goals went in and the Bluebirds scored 6 goals in the second half to win 6-1. The next two games against the Silverbacks '89 Silver and MSC Shockers '90 the Bluebirds won 8-0 to finish the tournament 3-1 and in second place. Several players scored multiple goals in the tournament for the Bluebirds including Kaylee Flowers, Kelsey Hatcher, Annie DeCoursey, Danielle Anderson, and Caitlin Lamb. Defense was outstanding with Erin Warden, Amanda Janton, Jonie Block, and Abby Bloom doing a fine job. Midfield was anchored by Peaches Gaston, Ashley Miess, and Rebekah Riner. Ashley Moskow did a nice job of playing all over the field for the Bluebirds. The Bluebird team is stronger this year and as soon as everybody gets used to playing together they should be an even more formidable foe than in the past.
